Inline Milk Filter

Note:  Each filter assembly comes with two additional replacement screens

Filtering milk is a very important part of keeping it not only free and clean from debris, but to help the taste and healthiness of the milk.  Debris often carry bacteria and bacteria is what causes illness and creates a bad taste.   So why not filter your milk before it even hits the pail?

Our Capralite Inline Milk Filter is designed to be placed directly inline between the milk hose and the milk bucket.  The Polyethylene Plastic Screen inside the filter is much better than the standard wire screen as it is much thicker and thus filters much more debris.  Another benefit to the Polyethylene Screen is that is it White and you can SEE what it's catching to know that it's actually working.   The screens are removeable and replaceable.  Our screens filter particle sizes to 10 microns, which is as small as possible without regular clogging or performance problems.

Screens should be and will need to be replaced as all filters do as they catch debris.  The white screen will discolor over time, this is normal.  Hard water, cleaning solvents and the milk itself causes this.  We recommend cleaning the filter of the "outside" debris after each use using Sanitizers.  Bleach can be used as well but will discolor quicker.

After a period of time the screen will become "full" and may lower the vacuum pressure, thus slowing down milking time.  If this occurs, simply replace the screen.  Recommended Screen replacement:  3-6 months depending on use.

You may be able to extend the life of the screen by keeping it clean and depending on the size of your milking herd and it's milk volume and the frequency of milking.   Some larger herds may want to replace their screens monthly whereas some very small herds may only need to replace one a every six months.
